Editing
Top-quality copyediting & publishing
My editorial career started in 2016, when I joined the Royal Society of Chemistry as a Publishing Editor. There, I trained to edit scientifc manuscripts with an impeccable standard for accuracy, clarity, and correctness. I went on to edit for the University of Cambridge and AstraZeneca, and the lessons I learned from science communication still serve me well in the video games industry, eight years later. This page contains a summary of the major editing projects I've worked on throughout my career.
Dot Esports
Associate Editor
Managing workflow with Trello and Slack, I edited and published around 400 gaming and esports articles per month using Wordpress while writing around 15 monthly articles of my own.
I researched, wrote, and approved pitches for writers, provided comprehensive and thorough feedback to develop staff, and led campaigns to cover major game releases including Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree and WoW: The War Within.
Comic Book Resources
TCG Editor/Senior Writer
At CBR, I launched a new section dedicated to trading card games (TCGs) and served as the section editor. Publishing three articles per day, I developed a thriving team of 10 TCG writers alongside writing my own content to establish a trustworthy, authoritative tone.
I researched trends and competitors, created pitches, and developed striking featured images in Photoshop so that the TCG section hit the ground running and stood out from the pack.
Graphene Flagship 2020 Annual Report
The 2020 Annual Report was packed with more content than any Graphene Flagship publication to-date. I took the initiative to expand the report to cover the Graphene Flagship's industry-focused Spearhead projects for the first time.
The end product provides balanced and inclusive coverage of partners in academia and industry and was well-received by the research community and the European Commission.
Graphene Magazine 2021
I interviewed scientists, commissioned articles from a PR agency, and directed graphic designers to produce Graphene Magazine for the Graphene Flagship, one of Europe's largest scientific funders, based at the University of Cambridge.
As magazine editor, I developed concepts for infographics, spreads, and visual features to disseminate cutting-edge innovations using graphene to a broad community of experts and non-specialists.
This edition features an interactive Video Product Gallery and three Enter the Lab spreads that provide an inside look into real graphene labs, showcasing some of the Graphene Flagship's most exciting projects behind the scenes.
Graphene Magazine 2020
The 2020 edition of Graphene Magazine puts the people behind the Graphene Flagship in the spotlight. I carefully commissioned and curated a mix of news stories, interviews, and features to produce an engaging publication with broad appeal.
I developed concepts for infographics, and designed several unique, striking page layouts for every section, closely guiding an external design agency to create an engaging product well-aligned with Graphene Flagship branding.
Graphene Flagship 2019 Annual Report
The Annual Report provides detailed coverage of the achievements of Graphene Flagship scientists over the year.
This was the first publication I independently edited and produced from concept to print. I also wrote most of the copy based on interviews with leading scientists and designed several infographics.
Faraday Discussions Vol. 212: Quantum Effects in Small Molecular Systems
While working as a Publishing Editor, I co-hosted a conference on quantum physics, called a Faraday Discussion, for the Royal Society of Chemistry. I transcribed the conference and comissioned artwork, then edited and compiled each discussion into a comprehensive volume.
